Off on another weekend camping
trip,
this time to Northern California.
We stayed in Reno the first
night, at
our favorite place-Atlantis.
Then next morning we headed
for California.
Before we headed toward
Shingletown KOA,
we stopped at Burney Falls
State Park.
It was really georgous!!
The falls were beautiful
and the water was
a crystal aqua color.
The KOA at Shingletown was
really great.
Very freindly folks and
beautiful grounds.
On Saturday morning we
headed out to
spend the day at Lassen
Volcanic National Park.
The views were spectacular
and the geology
was truly amazing. Until
Mt. St. Helens,
Lassen was the last volcano
to erupt on the US mainland
in 1914. You can
still see the difference in the "area
of devasation". There are
lots of hot springs and
you can actually see and
hear the water boiling.

A beautiful stream in the park
Taking each other's picture at the bridge
A deer in the meadow and David doing research.
The water in the stream through the meadow was crystal clear and cold.
Had lunch at the Lassen Glacier Lodge-good food, friendly people
Boiling water and steam vents
Water in this stream was yellow with sulphur, but Emerald Lake was
crystal clear.

These little pink flowers were everywhere and a patch of purple flowers
across the meadow.
