We're off again to California.
This time to the Mendocino
Coast.
It was really beautiful and
we got
to go bottom fishing at Fort
Bragg.
We stayed at a KOA near Elk, California.
Our cabin faced the beach and you could hear the waves crashing.
David, contemplating how far it is to Hawaii.
Driftwood and seaweed on the beach.
We saw this little guy at the harbor when we went
down to check out the boat for our fishing trip.
We took a drive down Highway 101 and saw the
infamous coastline.
We also stopped and visited the lighthouse
at Point Arena.
Light inside the lighthouse.
View from the top. We saw a pod of whales going by from here.
Off on our fishing trip, it was a cold, foggy morning.
David on the boat and the lighthouse in the fog.
A pretty good mess of fish for half a day.
David caught a sea urchin and I caught a 22 inch ling cod
that had to be thrown back, 23.5 inches is the minimum.
On the way home we drove through the redwoods,
Found a winery with a perfect name!!
And stopped at a restaurant for breakfast with
all these neat carvings.
It was a fun trip and our last camping for the summer.
Time to pack everything in garage and start
raking leaves!!
