We got up early Thursday morning
to
drive to the coast. On the
way we
saw lots of beautiful farm
land.
We saw lots of artichokes
being harvested,
and strawberries that were
just starting
to ripen, and even dill fields.
We stopped at a farm stand
and
had some fresh picked strawberries
for breakfast. They were great!

Onward we go to the west, finally reaching
Monterey.
We went to the Monterey Aquarium, and then
wandered around Cannery Row for a while,
before heading up the coast.

After our shopping expedition, in which
I found a great lighthouse picture and
a retro-hula metal box for
my Hawaii hula collection, we headed up
Highway One to watch the sun set over the
ocean.
We hoped to make it to Half Moon Bay for
the
sunset, but a traffic accident held us up
for
almost an hour, so we got to the Bay just
after sunset,
but got some pretty pictures anyway.
On the way we stopped to take pictures
of the Pidgeon Point Lighthouse.
